Creating a space for valuable shared moments with family and friends was at the heart of the brief.

Our process considered the space as a whole, the lifestyle of the client and the daily flow of their lives through the property at the same time as their vision for the design style.

The placement of the island, food preparation and cooking areas, ovens, storage, drinks areas, sinks, seating, even the coat and bag hooks, and boot and shoe storage in the adjoining utility room, were planned for ease of use and to ensure conversation and connection between everyone in the space.

Materials, finishes, furniture and cabinetry were sourced to reflect their desires and lifestyle, creating a glamorous family kitchen that is as individual as they are.

A curved dining banquette built into the central kitchen island brings family and friends into the heart of the space and breaks the delineation between family room and kitchen.

Lighting settings change the focal points and transform the way the space feels at different times of day, drawing people towards each other.
